Families in Glamping Bliss

Out of the city and into nature. The summer holiday is getting closer and closer, and the upcoming travel planning leads to heated discussions in many families: The husband dreams of adventure, the wife wants a wellness break, and the children just want to play outside all day. And now? Glamping - glamorous camping - is the answer. Because: the mix of closeness to nature and comfortable accommodation is the ideal compromise for all family members. From the forest to the sea, here are our glamping tips for young and old:

Nutchel: Family adventure between campfire romance and forest playground

A very special outdoor experience awaits families at the new Nutchel Forest Village in Alsace, just over the Franco-German border. Between the Rhine and the Vosges, little adventurers can run around freely all day, go exploring in the adjacent forest area or discover the magical "Fairy Shack" in search of fairies and elves. If you are bored or the weather is bad, there are plenty of children's books, painting and craft activities and a small indoor playground in the main house - the Cosy Chalet. Meanwhile, parents can relax in the sauna or take a dip in the hot tub, and in the evening the whole family can get cosy in front of the wood-burning stove in the cabin or barbecue marshmallows at one of the open fireplaces.

"As a mother of three children, I see every day how important it is to be regularly in touch with nature and to enjoy the little things in life. That's why I wanted to create something completely new, something unusual with Nutchel. A place where connections become more important than ever: with nature, with family and with friends," says founder Clémence Rousseau-Dumarcet, describing the glamping concept of the young tourism company. Nutchel in Alsace brings together a total of 37 Cosy Cabins, which offer a stay close to nature all year round and a wide range of activities for young and old. Adventurous families will find a second Forest Village in the Belgian Ardennes. Especially great: cabins are available from 95 euros/night.

Vacanze col cuore: the ideal combination of nature, comfort and entertainment

If, on the other hand, you are looking for a little more action and entertainment, you will find it in the family-friendly glamping resorts of the Vacanze col cuore group. From large water parks with slides and an extensive children's entertainment programme centred around the mascot Spotty to completely natural, car-free areas for playing and running around, families with children have plenty to offer here. The nine resorts are located in the popular Italian holiday regions of Lake Garda and Lake Idro as well as in Tuscany, and since last year, the Papillon Country Resort behind the German-Dutch border has also been part of the group's portfolio.

Families at Vacanze col cuore can also look forward to variety and diversity when it comes to accommodation: the absolute highlight are the American school buses that have been converted into a small flat with their own wood-fired hot tub in the front garden. Especially great for children: The front area is faithfully preserved with driver's seat, steering wheel and mirror and a greatplay corner for little bus drivers.

For an African vibe, on the other hand, there is a large selection of luxurious safari tents, including many multi-storey accommodations with separate sleeping tents and space for the extended family of up to six people. Wake up to the first birdsong and fall asleep to the sound of crickets: Thanks to the open tent character, the experience of nature is guaranteed - despite comfortable furnishings with private bathroom and kitchenette.

Glampings.co.uk: Source of inspiration for glamping fans big and small

Whether it's an adventurous tree house in the middle of the forest, a stylish Tiny House right by the sea, glamping on a farm or near an amusement park: with more than 750 unique accommodations in over 22 countries, the online platform Glampings.de offers the largest selection of luxury camping accommodations in all of Europe - with a focus on Germany and the Netherlands. One of the main target groups is clearly families. Managing Director Tobias Rebel knows why: "We observe that glamping is very well received by families. No wonder, because this type of holiday combines everything that makes a successful family holiday: Nature, freedom and contact with peers for the children and at the same time comfort, relaxation and the amenities of a hotel holiday for the adults." And how much does a glamping holiday cost for families? "That's hard to say, the price range of the individual accommodations is actually very wide. As a family, however, you will usually find what you are looking for starting at around 40 euros per person per night," explains Tobias Rebel.
